Kindhearted Jack, 8, Helps Homeless with Pocket Money

A KINDHEARTED youngster has been praised for using his pocket money to buy food and hot drinks for the homeless.

Eight-year-old Jack McKenna, from Hyde, spotted two homeless men outside Asda in Ashton, and instead of just walking on by he decided to do something to help.

Using his pocket money, he went into the store to get them a hot chocolate and a cookie each - and has continued to get them something when he sees them.

Proud mum Aimee McKenna says Jack, who attends Flowery Field Primary School in Hyde, decided to do it entirely on his own.

"He didn't even tell me," she said. "He just went into the shop and did it himself.

"I hadn't spoken to him about homelessness or anything like that.

"I am really proud of him, he is very caring."

And Jack received plenty of praise after Aimee posted a message about him on the Hyde Community Group Facebook page. …
