UNITED youngster Scott McTominay is enjoying life in Jose Mourinho's first-team squad and believes he is improving by studying his midfield team-mates.

The 21-year-old was praised by his manager and supporters after a composed performance in his first Premier League start of the season against Bournemouth on Wednesday.

The academy graduate looks set for more opportunities over the festive period and came on off the bench against West Brom on Sunday ahead of more senior colleagues.

Speaking to MUTV, McTominay explained how he is benefiting from training with world-class players and is learning from them on and off the pitch.

He said: "Even when I don't play, it's so important to watch the likes of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick - people who play in my position - and study everything that they do on the pitch. …
