Kagay: No Timeline for Decision on White Case

Investigative reports Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay received from the Lawrence Police Department regarding the Sept. 28 shooting death in Topeka of Dominique White included no recommendations as to whether criminal charges should be filed in the case, he said Thursday.

Lawrence police conducting that probe focused on fact-finding and evidence collection, Kagay told journalists gathered in a hallway at the County Courthouse, where he had appeared before the county commission on an unrelated matter.

Kagay said his office would decide what to do regarding potential charges in White's death "without undue delay," adding that he didn't have a specific time line for making that decision.
