CITY have been handed a boost after their Carabao Cup semi-final dates with Bristol City were confirmed.

The Blues' progression in the competition adds to what was already a busy January, taking them to eight games in 31 days.

However, the scheduling has been kind, with the first leg coming on Tuesday, January 9 rather than the Wednesday.

While it will mean two home games in four days as they play Burnley in the FA Cup on the Saturday before, it does give Pep Guardiola and his team an extra day to prepare for their toughest game of the month - on paper, anyway - away at Liverpool on Sunday, January 14.

The second leg, at Ashton Gate, takes place on January 23.

After beating United, City are another special draw for Bristol City boss Lee Johnson, who used to manage Oldham. …
