Cold Temps Moving through This Week

Temperatures this week will be chilly, and with the wind chill factored in, could drop below zero degrees in Topeka.

Monday night's low was expected to fall to 11 degrees with a slight chance of a light dusting of snow.

On Tuesday morning, the wind chill could hit zero degrees, said National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Gargan. The high is forecast to be 14. Further north along the Kansas-Nebraska border, temperatures will struggle to reach the teens, he said.

Cold weather will continue into Wednesday, with wind chills as low as minus six or seven degrees and an actual temperature around one degree. The high is 20.

A slight warmup is expected Thursday with temperatures possibly reaching the freezing mark.

Another shot of cold air will arrive Friday and continue into the weekend. Friday's high is predicted to reach 30 degrees, with temperatures starting to fall in the afternoon. …
