Pittsburgh Holiday Tree Recycling Information Released

The Pittsburgh Department of Public Works has announced locations for drop-off of holiday trees to be composted at no cost.

All ornaments, lights and stands must be removed.

Trees in plastic bags or netting will not be accepted, a release from the city said. Christmas trees set out at the curb for refuse pick-up will be sent to the landfill, not recycled.

Residents can take trees to the following drop-off locations:

Hazelwood Schenley Park Division - Open year-round

40 Melanchton St., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15207

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
