NAT060 - (US-Frozen-Pond-Rescue-Utah) NEW HARMONY, Utah. x-16s. A Utah sheriff's deputy says he was desperate and numb from the cold as he punched and stomped into a frozen pond on Christmas Day to pull out an 8-year-old boy who had fallen through the ice. After arriving at the scene, Washington County sheriff's Sergeant Aaron Thompson began searching an area where a woman reported seeing the boy's hand flail about four minutes earlier. Thompson says he didn't have any tools on the scene to help him smash through the ice. ("..weight on it.") (SOURCE:The Associated Press)
