NEWARK - If you closed your eyes as Seton Hall rallied from way back, it sounded familiar. Like the early 1990s.

Showing the kind of championship-caliber mettle not seen with this program in a generation, the 23rd-ranked Pirates erased a 13-point second-half deficit to beat No. 25 Creighton 90-84 Thursday. A packed Prudential Center of nearly 10,000 fans willed the host across the finish line in a Big East opener to remember.

Senior wing Desi Rodriguez paced the Hall (12-2, 1-0) with 23 points. Creighton (10-3) shot just 41 percent from the field after a torrid rate of 55 percent over the first 20 minutes.

Seton Hall's seniors are now 6-2 against the Bluejays, who got just 14 from standout guard Marcus Foster.
