Library Ends Book Sale at Ag Hall

Topeka and Shawnee County's public library is switching up how it does its annual book sale, one of the largest fundraisers for the organization.

The Friends of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library announced Thursday it is stopping the large annual event formerly held in September in the Agriculture Hall at the Kansas Expocentre. It had been going on for 47 years.

Instead, it will hold four sales each year at the library, 1515 S.W. 10th.

"Quarterly sales give people more opportunities to shop during the year and a more manageable collection to choose from," said Mary Campbell, Friends of the Library manager. "Holding the sales at the library will also be easier for volunteers."
