Grads Give Iup Pair of $1 Million Gifts

Two $1 million gifts will help Indiana University of Pennsylvania with endeavors from scholarships and a visiting mathematician program to other initiatives in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

One of the donors, Terry Serafini, who lives in Fox Chapel and Stuart, Fla., is a 1961 IUP mathematics graduate. He is a former owner of Computerpeople Inc. and co-founded the Pittsburgh-based technology solutions firm CompuCom, Inc.

His donation will bring scholarship aid for business honors students, summer math learning for high school students and a visiting mathematician program, officials said.

In announcing the donation, IUP officials said it also will include a matching gift incentive "to inspire current students to take responsibility for their own environment and invest in a new campus park. …
