WATERLOO > Stabbing suspect arrested * A man wanted in a fatal stabbing in Randolph County, Ill., was arrested early Sunday by officers in Waterloo, authorities said.

The man, who had not been charged, was wanted in the fatal stabbing of Adam J. Sesto, 36, of Red Bud, Ill. Randolph County sheriff deputies were called about 11 p.m. Saturday to Red Bud Regional Hospital, where Sesto was being treated for a stab wound. He was later pronounced dead of his injuries.

The investigation led authorities to a 22-year-old suspect who was arrested Sunday by Waterloo officers. He was being held pending charges. Officials declined to comment on a motive or give more details of the crime until charges were filed.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY > Brother charged in man's murder * A man was fatally shot by his older brother inside the home they shared near Belleville on Friday night, sheriff's deputies said.

Paul Commons, 50, was shot in the face by his brother, Wayne Commons, 56, according to St. Clair County Sheriff's Department Investigator Scott Toth. Both men lived on Lakewood Drive near Belleville.

Wayne Commons was charged with second-degree murder on Sunday. He is being held in the St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.

Toth said deputies were called to the home about 11 p.m. and found Paul Commons with a gunshot wound to the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Toth called it a domestic dispute but declined to discuss the nature of the argument.

The brothers were the only ones in the home at the time of the shooting. The older man's wife also lives in the home.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY > Family Dollar store robbed at gunpoint * An armed man robbed a Family Dollar store Saturday in north St. Louis County, police said.

The Family Dollar at 11314 West Florissant Avenue was robbed about 6:20 p.m., authorities said. The man approached the store's front cash register, showed a gun and demanded money, police said. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. …
