ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger has insisted City have NOT bid for Alexis Sanchez so far in the transfer window.

The Blues are understood to be keen on a deal for the Chile international and have been quoted £35m to land him.

They were originally happy to wait until summer, confident that Sanchez would join them on a free transfer after a £60m deal collapsed on deadline day in August. But injury to Gabriel Jesus has made him a January transfer target, although the Blues would be happy to wait until the summer if an agreement cannot be reached this month.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of Arsenal's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea, Wenger denied reports City had bid for Sanchez - but could not confirm whether he would play.
