KU's Wise to Return for Senior Season

LAWRENCE -- Three years of Kansas football weren't enough for Daniel Wise.

Wise, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle who recently completed his junior campaign, announced his intention to return for a senior season in a tweet Wednesday night.

"Unfinished business," Wise wrote, attaching a picture of a KU defensive huddle.

Already a force as an underclassman, Wise enjoyed a breakout junior season. He posted 16 tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles in 2017, one of the few highlights from the Jayhawks' 1-11 campaign. The Lewisville, Texas, native was the only KU player voted first team All-Big 12 last season.

"Cannot put into words how valuable Daniel is to our program -- an outstanding leader with a tremendous work ethic and an infectious personality," KU coach David Beaty tweeted. …
