EUREKA, CALIF. x-10s. Scientists and regulators in U-S states with legal marijuana say it isn't so green for the environment. A study published by California's Department of Fish and Wildlife found in 2015 that irrigation for outdoor and greenhouse cannabis grow-ops were sucking some streams dry. The streams provided important habitat for threatened salmon populations. Lead author Scott Bauer notes there is basically no rain in California between May and October.
