Two Hurt after Box Truck Hits Self-Driving Vehicle Driver to Be Cited for Running Light

The driver of a box truck will be cited for running a red light after the truck crashed into an Argo AI self-driving car Wednesday morning, injuring two people, a Pittsburgh spokeswoman said.

Alicia George, spokeswoman for the city Department of Public Safety, confirmed that the vehicles collided about 10 a.m. at the intersection of 16th and Progress streets on the North Side.

Two of the four riders in the black Argo AI car were transported to a hospital, where they were evaluated and released, Ms. George said.

Photos show the right side of the Argo AI vehicle smashed in along the passenger and rear door, with a blown out back window.

The crash occurred about one mile from Argo AI's test site, Ms. George said.
