Teens Charged in Teaneck Sale Gone Wrong

TEANECK — Three Bergen County teens lured a Ridgefield man trying to sell sneakers to Teaneck, then beat and robbed him, police said Wednesday.

The 20-year-old victim had arranged via Instagram to sell a pair of sneakers, with the exchange set to take place on Van Buren Avenue on Jan. 3, according to police. But when the prospective buyer arrived, he grabbed the shoes and fled, police said.

When the victim ran after the sneaker thief, he was attacked by three men on Albin Street, police said. The victim had injuries to his face and arms, but did not need to be hospitalized for treatment, according to police.
