Police Arrest Three in Wayne Package Thefts

Wayne police arrested three men for allegedly stealing packages from the front porches of several residences, authorities said.

At 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Don Davidson and officers Robert Hitson and Kyle Vergano responded to Harmony Lane after a resident reported they had seen three people in a car with New York license plates steal a package, said Capt. Larry Martin in a news release. During the investigation, Davidson and Hitson were able to find the suspects' car on the connector road with Route 23, near Bottle King.

Officers saw the packages with the labels of the victims' names and addresses in the back seat of the car, Martin said. The first package was valued at $885 and contained designer sneakers, sweatpants and a sweatshirt. The second package, stolen from a Springfield residence, was valued at $1,000 and contained a woman's designer jacket. …
