P06 - (BoC-Interest-Rate) OTTAWA. x-11s. The Bank of Canada is raising its trend-setting interest rate for the third time since last summer, by one quarter of a percentage point to 1.25 per cent. But while central bank governor Stephen Poloz says that's a result of better-than-expected recent economic data, the bank is taking a cautious approach to raising rates further. And Poloz says a big factor is the negotiations surrounding the North American Free Trade Agreement. ("..various channels.") (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)
