A Squirrel Hill man walked into the Zone 4 police station early Sunday and confessed to felony sexual assault, according to a criminal complaint.

Jeffery Gitchel, 48, stepped inside the police station at 5858 Northumberland St. around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and read a notarized statement in which he confessed to sexually assaulting a woman in March, according to the complaint.

Mr. Gitchel told police officers at the station's front desk that he and the woman had been arguing for several days about how much time he spent playing Ultimate Frisbee.

He said they were in bed when he held her down and assaulted her.
