A SPOKESMAN for SurvivorsUK, a charity dedicated to supporting male victims of rape and sexual assault, says that many men still feel unable seek help.

They said: "We are, unfortunately, not surprised to hear that the reported numbers of sexual assaults and rape on men in Greater Manchester have increased in the past year.

"While these figures may well reflect men feeling increasingly able to report these crimes to the police, it remains the case that crimes of this nature are far too frequent, and too many men still feel unable to seek help and support. SurvivorsUK offers practical and emotional support to anyone affected by sexual crimes on men, and would encourage anyone looking for help to get in touch with us in confidence."

GMP Detective Chief Inspector Debbie Oakes said officers work hard to stop attacks in the first place, but also encourages victims to come forward to get support - and justice. …
