ALEXIS Sanchez has revealed he couldn't turn down United once he knew the Reds wanted him.

And Old Trafford's new No.7 says he is out to prove the club were right to sign him.

The striker has completed his switch from Arsenal on a four-and-a-half year deal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.

The 29-year-old Sanchez, who is reported to be on close to £500,000 a week, could make his debut in Friday's FA Cup fourth round tie at Yeovil.

"I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world," said Sanchez. "I have spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at Arsenal and I bring with me very positive memories of that great club and its fans.

"The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down.
