Adamson Honoured by Role at Hornets

EX-SALFORD and Oldham forward Luke Adamson has been named Rochdale Hornets co-captain, alongside halfback Danny Yates.

The 30-year-old spent last season with Roughyeds, before making the switch to the Crown Oil Arena, where he has joined his brother Toby.

And Adamson, who has also played rugby union with Bath, admits he did not expect to be handed a leadership role so early in his time with the club.

"I was surprised when coach Alan Kilshaw asked me, but also honoured at the same time," he explained.

"It will be a great honour to lead the club this season and, fingers crossed, we can do really well."

Former St Helens playmaker Yates has been named co-captain and Adamson hopes his Super League experience - which includes more than 140 matches for Salford - can help him to take the pressure off his younger co-captain. …
