Pennsylvania Man Returns to Clifton, Faces Stolen Gun and Drug Charges

CLIFTON — A motor vehicle stop Monday night led to the apprehension of a Pennsylvania man suspected of fleeing from city police in August. He now faces stolen gun and drug possession with intent to distribute charges, police said.

According to police officials, at about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 30, Patrolmen Adam Courtney and Todd Compesi conducted a motor vehicle stop at Lexington and Highland avenues for motor vehicle violations.

The driver, a 24-year-old Paterson man, and an unknown passenger were in the car, said Detective Lt. Robert Bracken. During the stop, police said, they found a suspected fraudulent insurance document in the driver's possession.

As the officers investigated, the passenger fled from the vehicle on foot. Compesi chased the suspect on foot into the city of Passaic, Bracken said. …
