WHL: Thunderbirds top Wheat Kings in shootout

KENT, Wash. - Noah Philp, Blake Bargar and Donovan Neuls all scored in the shootout as the Seattle Thunderbirds edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-5 on Tuesday in Western Hockey League action.

Neuls, Jake Lee, Philp, Dillon Hamaliuk and Zack Andrusiak also scored in regulation time for the Thunderbirds (25-16-6). Dorrin Luding made 24 saves for the win.

Ty Lewis struck twice for the Wheat Kings (28-15-5), while Connor Gutenberg, Stelio Mattheos and Linden McCorrister chipped in as well. Lewis scored in the shootout for Brandon.

Logan Thompson stopped 35 shots for the Wheat Kings.

Seattle went 0 for 4 on the power play and Brandon went 1 for 4 with the man advantage.
