TWO young women have stolen more than £2,500 from the elderly and disabled - even trying to pull the rings off a pensioner's fingers - in a series of robberies in the city centre.

There have been four incidents in just two days - and one of their victims was in a wheelchair.

A woman in her late 80s was in a bank in Piccadilly Gardens and had her watched swiped off her wrist before the thieves tried to get her rings off.

They women start conversations with their victims about food, directions, and donations to charity before taking cash from them.

There were two incidents in St Ann's Square and Piccadilly Gardens on Thursday and two thefts on Market Street on Friday.

A man who was in a bank in St Ann's Square on Thursday had £2,000 taken from him after a struggle. …
