Hackensack Man Sought after Chase along Route 46

After leading police on a chase along Route 46 early Tuesday morning, a Hackensack man suspected of being the driver was still at large, police said.

Fairfield police were looking for Tomas Deleone, 22, after he fled from a motor vehicle stop, Chief Anthony Manna said in a press release. Deleone was pulled over at 12:40 a.m. after he was clocked going 70 mph in a 50 mph zone in his gray Toyota Camry on Route 46 east. When Officer Daniel Moran approached the car, Deleone allegedly told him he did not have a driver's license and was not able to show him the car's credentials.

A second officer arrived at the scene. Deleone is accused of intentionally misspelling his first name when he gave it to the officer. When conducting a computer check of Deleone, Moran discovered he had a warrant out of Bergen County for a court violation, Manna said. …
