How the Eagles Downed the Pats

Article excerpt

The setup was absolutely perfect for another epic Patriots' Super Bowl win. Tom Brady had the ball in his hands in the final minutes, with his Patriots trailing 38-33. A touchdown away from immortality. But Philadelphia's Brandon Graham had other ideas. he strip sacked Brady and when Derek Barnett recovered the ball with just more than two minutes remaining, everything changed. Instead, it was Nick Foles who had the game-winning drive -- his 11-yard pass to Zach Ertz in the final three minutes proved to be the difference. Brady got one last chance, but a hail mary to Rob Gronkowski fell harmlessly to the turf. And after 52 years of frustration, the Eagles were finally Super Bowl champs.

Bottom line: Nick Foles is a Super Bowl hero after Tom Brady squandered his late chance.

The Eagles are looking for a historic breakthrough. The fourth quarter should be intriguing.

Bottom line: Buckle up, because we're headed for another thrilling finish at the Super Bowl.
