(Alta-Carbon-Monoxide)

A 12-year-old boy in Alberta has died after an apartment building was ecacuated due to carbon monoxide.

E-M-S were called to the 136-unit complex in Airdrie yesterday morning for a report of a child in medical distress, but they quickly realized there was a carbon monoxide danger.

R-C-M-P Insp. Kimberley Pasloske (paz-LOSS-kee) says police will work with the fire department and the coroner to determine what happened and why, as well as whether charges will be laid.

Pasloske says two other members of the boy's family were treated in hospital, while one other resident of the building was treated at a recreation centre. (The Canadian Press)

(Grassland-Fatal-Crash)

A four-year-old girl has died in a weekend crash north of Edmonton.

Police say it appears the driver of a westbound pickup truck lost control on Highway 55 near the town of Grassland on Saturday evening and veered into the oncoming lane where it struck an eastbound S-U-V.

Police say the little girl was a passenger in the S-U-V and died at the scene.

The woman who was driving the S-U-V and the man behind the wheel of the pickup were both transported by air ambulance to Edmonton. (The Canadian Press)

(Cattrall-Missing)

There was a sad ending to a public appeal over the weekend to help find actress Kim Cattrall's brother who was missing in Alberta.

The "Sex and the City" star said on social media that her brother, Chris Cattrall, had disappeared from his home in Lacombe.

R-C-M-P had said the 55-year-old was last heard from on Tuesday, but said yesterday afternoon that the 55-year-old had been found dead on the rural property.

Police say their preliminary investigation does not indicate the death is suspicious. (The Canadian Press)
