FC UNITED came up short on their travels as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Nuneaton Town on Saturday.

Ashley Chambers got the opening goal for Nuneaton just before the half-hour mark, and that proved to be enough as they held on to take all three points and condemn the Rebels to defeat at Liberty Way.

The loss for Tom Greaves' side has seen them drop down to 13th place in the National League North table. There was frustration for a lot of the other non-league sides, as some of the scheduled matches were called off due to the weather.

SALFORD CITY's planned home game with Bradford Park Avenue fell victim to the conditions, as did CURZON ASHTON's home match against Gainsborough Trinity. Salford are five points clear at the top of the table, while Curzon are third from bottom. …
