Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the government wants to do everything in its power to prevent and remove online child sexual abuse from the internet.

This morning Goodale announced the government will spend 4.1-million-dollars over five years to support the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.

The registered charity will use the money to develop and maintain an automated crawler that detects online child sexual abuse images and videos, and to improve supports for survivors. (8)

SpaceX chief Elon Musk says his Falcon Heavy rocket will reach even further into space than Mars.

The final firing of the world's most powerful rocket put his red Tesla convertible into a solar orbit that stretches all the way to the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Thousands watched in person and millions more watched online as the Heavy lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center yesterday afternoon, making it the second biggest livestream in YouTube history. (8)

(US-Russian Hackers-Contractors)

The Associated Press is reporting Russian cyberspies pursuing the secrets of military drones and other sensitive U-S defence technology tricked key contract workers into exposing their email to theft.

It's not clear exactly what the hackers, known as Fancy Bear, managed to steal.

But the news agency says the hackers clearly exploited a national vulnerability in cybersecurity -- poorly protected email and barely any direct notification to victims. …
