Swayze Waters and T.J Heath return to Argos

TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts signed two-time all star defensive back T.J. Heath to a one year contract for the 2018 season.

The 30-year-old is returning to the team after playing in 10 games in the 2016 season.

As an Argo, Heath recorded 37 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions, and five pass knockdowns before being traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The six-foot-one, 181 pound Alabama native was named a CFL and West Division All-Star in both 2016 (halfback) and 2017 (defensive back).

The Argos also signed American kicker/punter Swayze Waters to a one-year contract Wednesday.

The move comes a day after Canadian Lirim Hajrullahu signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a free agent. …
