There's a new spot for croissants, baguettes, quiche, tarts and other pastries Downtown: La Gourmandine has opened at 308 Forbes Ave., the bakery's fourth outpost in the area since the first location debuted in Lawrenceville in 2010.

Husband-wife team Fabien and Lisanne Moreau have opened the 2,700-square-foot, 15-seat cafe in the former Penn Ave. Fish Company spot. The focus will be on breakfast and lunch, with croissants baked on site and most items brought in from the Hazelwood facility they opened last year.

The Hazelwood location has allowed the Moreaus to shore up systems and to open this fourth location; before it opened last year, bakers in the Lawrenceville (4605 Butler St.) and Mt.
