Blind bags

Blind bags are groups of small collectible toys — often mini versions of larger toys — that are sold in pouches or boxes that hide the identity of the toy inside. Everyone seems to have one this year, from mini versions of the 2017 toy star Fingerlings to a mystery mini box from the folks who gave us Beanie Babies.

'Social' toys

Social doesn't necessarily mean social skills. These are toys that play well on social media — ones that kids and kids at heart like to use to post videos of themselves getting soaked with water, like Yulu's Watermelon Smash, or wearing a funny accessory, like the tiny hands in Mattel's Handimonium game.
