Two More from Nutley Arrested in Hillsdale Attack, Authorities Say

Two additional arrests were announced Wednesday after a 24-year-old man was ambushed in Hillsdale last week, leaving him paralyzed, authorities said.

Alex Juarez, 19, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on attempted murder charges for allegedly assaulting the victim, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. Juarez was arrested Tuesday and the juvenile was arrested Feb. 16. The two Nutley residents remained in the Bergen County Jail pending detention hearings.

Bryan Ortigoza, 19, of Nutley was arrested Feb. 14, the Prosecutor's Office said.

"Hillsdale PD and Bergen County Prosecutor's Office detectives surveilled the address and observed Ortigoza washing the BMW SUV," according to the affidavit of probable cause. "They further observed the interior of the vehicle to be soaking wet and suspected blood. …
