IXOLOGY has come a long way in Manchester.

And to celebrate World Bartender Day tomorrow (Saturday), we've rounded up a few of our favourite watering holes in the city, where a thirsty visitor can find fresh, innovative cocktails.

Peggy's Bar BASED in the former Corridor bar, new neighbourhood drinking den Peggy's focuses on quality, seasonal cocktails.

The menu changes on a weekly basis depending on what is available at the market that week, which they combine with a growing larder of homemade pickles and liqueurs.

Our favourite is The Devil Made Me Do It - a potent mix of Appleton rum, Nectar Pedro Ximenez sherry, bitters, absinthe and sugar.

The strong drinks line up is complemented by a food menu featuring po' boys, tacos and grilled cheese.
