CCTV images of a man police want to speak to has been released after a shop worker's thumb was broken during a jewellery store robbery. Police are investigating after a man stole a bracelet worth more than £1,400 from a store in Salford.

The man went into Discount Second Hand Jewellery at Salford Precinct on Fitzgerald Way and asked to view a necklace and bracelet at around 3.15pm on December 19.

A assistant allowed him to try a necklace on before he left, saying he had to speak to his partner.

The man then returned and tried a matching bracelet on.

He asked to try the necklace on again, but the shop assistant told him he could only try on one item of jewellery at a time and tried to help take the bracelet off.

Police say the man then became aggressive and pulled his hand away, breaking the shop assistant's thumb. …
