Penndot to Motorists: Please Be Patient on Potholes

As the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's head of road maintenance for the Pittsburgh area, Angelo Pampena is well aware that many area roads are pock-marked with potholes. He's asking the public for patience as crews wait for dry weather to fill the holes.

And that includes Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto.

In response to a complaint Thursday about the condition of East Carson Street on the South Side, Mr. Peduto pointed out that is a state-maintained road and not the city's responsibility.

"We have contacted @PennDOTNews multiple times. Carson Street is a state maintained route. They have yet to send a crew to repair it," Mr. Peduto tweeted.

"We understand [East Carson Street] is a priority," Mr. Pampena said. "We're trying to get the worst of the worst first and get to everything when we can. Right now, it's just going to take a few weeks for us to catch up. …
