Coldest spell of weather for FIVE years as icy blast sweeps in from Siberia Temperatures to plunge to -8c ... and 10cms of snow is on the way

THE 'beast from the east' is to make this week the coldest for five years in Greater Manchester - with 10cms of snow on the way.

Temperatures will plunge to MINUS 8C as a cold front from Siberia comes crashing in.

Forecasters say it will be one of the 'coldest and most unsettled spells of weather since March 2013'.

Drivers are being warned to prepare for a week of travel chaos and to keep their de-icer and scrapers handy.

A yellow snow warning has been issued from midnight tomorrow, with up to 10cm of snow predicted to fall across Greater Manchester.

The Met Office says temperatures will fall to between -3C and -8C overnight and highs of 2C during the day - but it will 'bitterly cold' because of the wind chill. …
