A NEW flight linking Manchester and the Outer Hebrides is being launched.

Loganair has announced a new timetable for services between Stornoway in the Western Isles and Manchester Airport.

It will see the airline increase its offering this summer to two non-stop services per week.

It comes after the annoucement of the first ever non-stop services linking Stornoway with Manchester last December.

In addition to the Saturday service announced from June 23 through to September 1, a Wednesday flight will now operate from 27 June to 29 August.

The flight will leave Stornoway at 11.25am, arriving Manchester at 12.55pm.

The return flight will leave Manchester at 1.40pm, arriving Stornoway at 3.10pm.
