Nasturtium Is Great to Plant, Eat

There are many reasons why nasturtium is popular.

First, it's an attractive all-flowering plant. Some are odd, too. In fact, nasturtium flowers are slightly floppy.

Second, nasturtium are edible. The seeds of this plant can be pickled, and the flowers and leaves can be nibbled on or put into a salad. For a dinner party, you can decorate your platters with the flowers, making them look interesting and beautiful.

Third, nasturtium acts like a "trap plant." That is, it is very attractive to aphids. And so, if you place it next to a plant that has aphids, nasturtium will attract the aphids.

If by some reason, you get some with aphids, they do seem able to bear up very well. Just be sure to look carefully for them when buying nasturtium. When you get your plant home, rinse off the flowers and leaves even though you don't see them . …
