NAT008 - (Loneliness-Conversation) VANCOUVER. x-20s. An organization in Vancouver is trying to tackle social isolation by helping people break down language barriers. Beyond the Conversation is a series of small group discussions throughout the city that brings people who don't speak English as their first language together to practice talking and foster friendships. Silinia Law (sih-LIN'-ee-ah) meets with a group off Victoria Drive every Wednesday, and says it's helping members connect with the wider community. ("..local people.") (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: There are 10 groups that meet at community centres, churches and coffee shops around the city, and organizers intend to expand with more groups throughout B-C's Lower Mainland this year.
