Sister of Homewood Homicide Victim Asks Killer to Surrender

The sister of a slain 27-year-old Homewood woman called on the killer to come forward Thursday, fewer than 24 hours after her sister was shot to death.

Mia Green was shot multiple times about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday behind a home in the 7300 block of Hamilton Avenue, according to Pittsburgh police and the Allegheny County medical examiner's office. She lived nearby, said her sister, Monique Gease, 29.

"I want whoever did this to know it hurts the family, it hurts these kids," Ms. Gease said. "Everybody is hurt right now, we're devastated, and we just need whoever did this to turn themselves in."

Ms. Green was pronounced dead at UPMC Presbyterian at 6:58 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

"By the time we got to the hospital, they were directing us to homicide," Ms. Gease said, her voice cracking. …
