NAT129 - (Death-Midwives) WINNIPEG. x-11s. Two British Columbia women who call themselves death midwives are facing legal action by the province's college of midwives. The college wants Pashta MaryMoon and Patricia Keith to stop using the term midwife, saying it causes confusion among the public and applies to people who provide maternity care, not to care for the dying. The college isn't commenting while the case is before B-C Supreme Court, but Kris Robinson of the Canadian Midwifery Regulators Council says her group supports the legal action after joining multiple attempts to deal with the women.
