VICTOR Lindelof has found it 'tough' at United because there were 'great expectations and he did not get much game time' following his big-money transfer from Benfica, according to team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic . The Swede finally completed his £30.7m move to Old Trafford in June, having coming close to joining the club five months previously, after winning three titles with Benfica.

Many expected Lindelof to immediately slot in alongside Eric Bailly in the heart of United's defence, but Jose Mourinho has been patient with the 23-year-old and slowly introduced him to the rigours of English football.

The defender has started 21 games this season and has gradually grown in confidence following a number of shaky moments - including an error-strewn afternoon at Huddersfield back in October. …
