ARMED officers swooped on a street in Crumpsall after shots were fired at a house.

Police were called to a property on Middleton Road in the early hours of yesterday following reports of a gun attack.

Officers found two bullet holes in the front door of a house.

Shots are understood to have been fired at around 12.30am. Police were called around 90 minutes later.

A cordon was put up around the house yesterday and officers remained at the scene through the day.

Crime Scene Investigators in white overalls were seen removing the front door, with a bullet hole visible, to take it away for forensic analysis.

There were no injuries, 'but there could easily have been', police said.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
