Restoration St. Louis Plans 95-Unit Apartment Building in Grove

Restoration St. Louis is one city-owned lot away from assembling the land it needs for an $18 million, 95-unit apartment building on Arco Avenue in the popular Grove entertainment district.

"It's taken us years to get the lots that we have," Restoration St. Louis CEO Amy Gill said.

Gill's company already owns 10 lots on the street, several of them with structures in various states of disrepair. It just needs to buy one lot from the St. Louis Land Reutilization Authority, which it plans to request at its next meeting.

"If we can get this LRA lot, we can start as early as May or June," Gill said.

The developers would demolish several of the structures to make way for an apartment project it says would have a four-story brownstone street facade with elevated stoops. The other facades not immediately facing the street would complement other development in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood with modern glass and steel materials. …
