Drunk Passenger Arrested after Jet Turns Back

A PLANE was forced to turn round in mid-air and go back to Manchester Airport after a 'drunken' passenger started causing trouble.

The Ryanair jet, which was bound for Tenerife, made the about-turn after the 45-year-old man became 'disruptive'.

Once back at Manchester, police boarded the plane to arrest the man and he was led away to cheers.

Others on the 9pm flight were given overnight accommodation before being flown to Tenerife the following morning.

A Ryanair spokesman said: "This flight from Manchester to Tenerife returned to Manchester after a passenger became disruptive in flight. The aircraft landed normally and the passenger was met by police upon arrival.

"Customers were provided with overnight accommodation in Manchester and boarded a rescheduled flight for Tenerife early the following morning. …
