TWO young men on a night out in Manchester city centre were attacked and held in a hotel room by two thugs they bumped into.

Julian McLeod and Gary Davenport, both 22, have been jailed after the 'terrifying' robbery.

The two victims had booked a room at the Britannia Hotel in the city centre.

They headed out to a nightclub, where they both took ecstasy, Manchester Crown Court heard. While they were out, they bumped into McLeod and Davenport, who told them they were also staying at the hotel. The men decided to head back there and then drank and talked in the victims' room for a while. A few hours later, at about 6am, the defendants started to become aggressive, prosecutor Andrew Evans said, and began to rummage through their bag and Julian McLeod took their phone and wallet. Then, at about 11am, McLeod and Davenport marched the two men to a cash point and forced them to withdraw £300. …
