NAT138 - (Whale-Study) VANCOUVER. x-19s. Conservationists say new federal funding to study southern resident killer whales and develop technology to track them isn't enough. Hussein Alidina, lead specialist in ocean conservation with the World Wildlife Fund Canada, says the species was listed as endangered more than 16 years ago and little concrete action has been taken since a plan was introduced last year.
