Police Inquiry into Death of 'Popular' Boy

A POLICE investigation has been launched into the death of a 'popular and well-liked' schoolboy in Stockport.

The teenager, who attended St James' Catholic High School in Cheadle Hulme, died in hospital after falling ill at a house in Heald Green on Saturday, a GMP spokesman confirmed.

The circumstances of the youngster's death and the nature of the GMP investigation have not yet been confirmed. The school has paid tribute to the boy, who has not been publicly named.

St James' headteacher Tim Beesley described the death as 'tragic and unintentional.' .

Mr Beesley said: "It is with tremendous sadness that we received news about the tragic and unintentional death of one of our students over the weekend. Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy go out to his family and friends at this very difficult time. …
